


Johnny was a hardworking and devoted family man. It would be these qualities that would carry throughout his life and make him known for the “good man” that he was to all those he would come across. In these early years, he learned patience, love, understanding, kindness, appreciation, and selflessness. He took pride in his upbringing and often attributed his morals and values to the lifestyle which he grew up in. Growing up, Johnny lived the true cowboy rancher life. Johnny married his beautiful wife, Glenda Hadley, on December 31, 1974. Johnny graduated from McMullen High School in Tilden, TX. Johnny was born on October 20, 1943, in Tilden, TX to Doroteo and Beatrice Heritage. Juan “Johnny” Sotello Heritage, 79, of Brenham, unexpectedly went home to his Lord and Savior on April 22, 2023. Honorary Pallbearers are David Kelm, Brenham Firefighters and Volunteers, City of Brenham Employees and City of Bellville Employees. Pallbearers are Cody Davis, Matthew Perkey, Mike Davis, Will Foster, Paul Schoenfeld and Randy Gaddy. and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is preceded in death by his father, Calvin Meyer uncle, Felix Meyer Jr. Very special friend Lisa Hays and also his aunt and numerous cousins. Darrell is survived by his mother, Joyce Meyer daughters, “Princess” Melissa Meyer, “Booger” Laura Perkey and husband, Matthew: grandson, “Little Man” Michael Calvin Perkey and the mother of his children, Eva Meyer sister, Cheryl Davis, niece, Cara Foster and husband, Will nephews, Cody Davis, Cameron Blezinger and Garner Blezinger niece, Jill Blezinger great-nephew, Cade Davis. He also loved barbecuing, especially his Beer Can Chicken. He loved going to the beach, Hill Country, Round Top antiquing and spending time with family. He was a retired volunteer for the Brenham Fire Department and it was a big part of his life for many years. He owned Meyer TV and enjoyed repairing TV’s and installing antennas. He began his career working at Lehmann TV, Sears, Buddy’s Appliance, Blue Bell Aquatic Center and at the Bellville Recycling Center.

He then was united in marriage with Eva Erdelt on Maat St. He graduated from Brenham High School and TSTI in Waco, TX. Darrell was born on Januin Brenham to Calvin and Joyce Pelkemeyer Meyer. with burial following the service at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Darrin Holub officiating. John's United Church of Christ in Burton, Tx. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Darrell “Potsy” Wayne Meyer, 61, of Brenham went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
